Midlifers will Work Longer

Will I be able to enjoy those retirement walks, or will I still be working?

Midlifers expect to work at least four years longer than they had originally planned after postponing retirement due to the recent economic downturn.

That's the major finding from a survey of CPA financial planners last week by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The survey was conducted in late January and discovered that 79 percent of CPA financial planners had at least one midlifer client who was delaying retirement due to the economy.
